The Maryland Photography Alliance (MPA) is pleased to announce a number of activities you should consider attending, so grab a pencil and mark your calendar for the following:
MPA Gallery Exhibition is Now Open
MPA’s 1st exhibition since the pandemic officially opened on Friday, June 24. The exhibition is taking place at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park in Gaithersburg. The address is 506 S Frederick Ave, Gaithersburg, MD 20877. On display are 58 award winning images from MPA’s 2020 and 2021 photo competitions. Mark your calendar for the reception which will take place on Sunday July 17 from 1:00-3:30 PM. The exhibition runs through September 5.
“Artist Spotlight” Webinar
The next “Artist Spotlight” presentation will take place on Thursday, July 7 at 7:00 PM. Hazel Meredith will be discussing “Alternative Visual Artistry – Creative Post-Processing”. Night Photography Workshop
Through the MPA Grant Program, a series of night photography workshops have been scheduled this summer on the Eastern Shore. In conjunction with Working Image Photography and Kim Kelly Images, the next workshop will take place on Saturday, July 30 from 8:00-11:00 PM on Hoopers Island. MPA 6th Annual Photography Contest
With an impressive prize pool of $2,100, you should consider entering the contest this year. There is plenty of time to prepare your submissions since September 1 through September 30 are the dates when entries will be accepted. There are 4 categories to choose from this year which are:
