Manhattan, New York City - A Photographic Odyssey
Carl Lancaster is putting together a weekend-long photographic trip to New York City. The date is June 13-15, 2014. Those who join the group will stay at the Courtyard Marriott Jersey City Newport.
Encapsulated Itinerary:
- Friday afternoon, check in and then group dinner near the hotel. Photograph the Manhattan skyline from along the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway from pre-sunset to as late as you wish.
- Saturday, breakfast on your own. Then, depart hotel at 8:00 a.m., taking the PATH to Manhattan. Walk to the southern end of The Highline. Meander south towards Greenwich Village for street photography and lunch. Visit an Hispanic Catholic Church, and shoot at Washington Square. Visit the Leica Photography Gallery, and then dinner. There are several options after dinner, including the World Trade Center, 9-11 Memorial, Times Square, Liberty State Park, Brooklyn Bridge, and Manhattan Bridge.
- Sunday - lots of options including B&H Photo, Adorama and more.
