January Field Trip to the College Park Aviation Museum
On Saturday, January 24, 2009, B-CCC will venture forth for its first field trip of the new year. We will be visiting the College Park Aviation Museum, in nearby College Park, Maryland. The museum is a 27,000 square foot facility located on the grounds of the College Park Airport, which is the oldest continuously operating airport in the world. The museum has an open 1½ story exhibit area which highlights a display of unique aircraft and objects relating the history of early aviation at the College Park Airport.
The museum opens at 10:00 a.m. The use of tripods is permitted. We can meet at the museum, or if you prefer, we can carpool from my home in Bowie. Those carpooling should be at my house by 9:15 a.m. We'll spend as much time in the museum as everyone would like, and then head to the well-known 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant, just a short distance from the museum, for an enjoyable lunch.
You can access the museum's web site at this address: http://www.collegeparkaviationmuseum.com/
